Emergency care and its importance in the care of seniors
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Aneta
Bachelor's work engages in emergency care and its importance in the care of seniors. In particular it targets those seniors which are also patients of general practitioners. General practitioners are a great source of informations for their patients. Seniors trust them and follow their advice. General practitioners should know social service, consequently emergency care, to be able to inform their patients. Thus the aim of this bachelor's work is to chart emergency care for seniors from the view of general practitioners. The questions of my research were aimed on the range of knowledge of general practitioner about emergency care. Onwards, how general practitioners evaluate the meaning of emergeny care in care of seniors. The questions of research were also targeted on how the general practitioners inform about this care those patients, who could be potential users of this particular service. In this bachelor's work was used qualitative research, the method of questioning and the technique of halfstructured interview. Research ensemble was constituted by 9 general practitioner from České Budějovice and Trhové Sviny. The data were sorted into particular categories for better lucidity. Research shows that hardly any of general practitioners know the service of emergency care, which means they provide this information on rare occasions and to hardly anyone. On the other hand they admit that there are just few sources of informations for seniors. As the most important contribution of emergency care is, according to the general practitioners, the encrease of security, feeling of safety and the independence of seniors. The results of my work can be used by students and also by occasional applicants for this service, but mostly by providers of emergency care and by general practitioners to enhance interest and improve knowledge in services, particularly in emergency care.

Papíková, Lucie ; Onder, Jakub (advisor) ; Chrz, Vladimír (referee)
The thesis deals with the analysis of the risks of the work of dispatchers of the Emergency care Areión (in czech: Tísňová péče Aerión = TPA) for the elderly people. The aim was to find out what their dispatchers consider to be burdensome and demanding and what, on the contrary, helps them in emergency situations. With the help of idiographic research with emergence, which I analyzed with using the principle of the grounder theory, I tried to answer by the interviews with five respondents how TPA dispatchers perceive their work and workload. Whether they feel competent to communicate and deal with people in crisis and perceive their competencies. What are all the factors and situations in the work, which are burdensome and demanding for the dispatchers and how they deal with such a burden. And finally, what could improve the overall quality of TPA work from the point of view of dispatchers. In the theoretical part I deal with issues of aging and elderly as a target group of TPA social service. Next to the service itself; and the techniques of conducting crisis calls on emergency lines and telephone crisis intervention methods used on trust lines, as two types of work that are most closely resemble to the TPA social service. KEY WORDS: elderly people, emergency care, crisis intervention, call techniques
